Measuring degrees plato 

The scale used to express the concentration of dissolved solids in a brewery wort is called Plato scale and is measured in degrees Plato (°P). The measurement of wort is important to brewers because it is an indicator of the potential alcoholic strength of the beer. It can be determined most precisely by using SCHMIDT + HAENSCH instruments, a density meter as well as a refractometer.
