Characterization of hydrocarbon liquids

Hydrocarbon liquids are used as heating fuels, transportation fuels, and diluting agents for heavy crude oils and many other industrial processes. The characterization of those liquids is an important step in many production processes. Hydrocarbon liquids can be characterized by measuring their density and their refractive index (ASTM D1747-99) with density meter and refractometer by SCHMIDT + HAENSCH.
